Why I became a PEDO Ambassador
I want to become a DRC Ambassador because I believe that every student deserves equal opportunities, respect, and access to an inclusive and supportive educational environment. I want to contribute to creating greater awareness about disability inclusion and help ensure that students with disabilities can participate fully in academic and university life.
As a student of Genetic Engineering at the University of Agriculture, Peshawar, I am interested in science, innovation, and finding solutions to challenges. I believe these values can also be applied to promoting accessibility and inclusion. I want to help create awareness that disability should never prevent a student from pursuing education, developing skills, conducting research, or achieving their goals.
As a DRC Ambassador, I would help connect students with disabilities to the Disability Resource Center and share information about available academic support, scholarships, assistive resources, career opportunities, and other university facilities. I would listen to students' concerns and help them find appropriate support whenever needed.
I would also encourage students with disabilities to participate confidently in research, academic activities, extracurricular programs, and professional opportunities. At the same time, I would promote greater understanding and respectful attitudes toward disability among the wider student community.
This opportunity would allow me to serve my university while developing my leadership, communication, teamwork, and advocacy skills. My goal is to contribute to an inclusive campus where students with disabilities are recognized for their abilities and potential and are given equal opportunities to learn, participate, innovate, and succeed.
