Pak Everbright Development Organization

Pak Everbright Development Organization (PEDO) is a key consortium partner of Catholic Relief Services (CRS) to implement 5 years, USAID-funded School Sab Ke Liye
(School for All)
in districts Swat, Dera Ismail Khan, and Nowshera, which is designed to improve Pakistan’s education ecosystem and enhance inclusive, sustained access to quality education for marginalized children, particularly girls, and children with disabilities.

Inclusive Education

PEDO (the Subrecipient) will work to achieve the targets under Outcome 1 and 2 of the School Sab Ke Liye (School for All) results frameworks in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP). It will mobilize its local disabled people organization networks to work with the communities’ parents and Parent-Teacher Councils (PTCs) to enroll disabled and marginalized children in schools and prevent their drop out. PEDO will also work on mobilization for the enrolment of children with disabilities and will advocate for disability inclusion in schools in KP. PEDO will also work with the technical and Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) team, (School for All) consortium partners and government counterparts to develop the School Sab Ke Liye School for All Annual Work Plan (AWP) and Annual Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Plan (AMELP). PEDO will engage throughout to ensure timely implementation and reporting of School Sab Ke Liye activities described below

Education authorities implement education policies

Coordinate with the provincial education department and district education offices to effectively implement inclusive education policies in KP: This program component includes assessment of existing policies and developing implementation frameworks and action plans in collaboration with the government counterparts and (School for All) technical teams incorporating inclusion and resilience. Capacity building of district education officials to implement inclusive education policies and action plans is another important set of activities under this component. PEDO will work with other(School for All) consortium partners and the School Education and Literacy Department in KP to implement policies and action plans related to inclusive education.

Communities are mobilized to support inclusive education

PTCs, District Education Officials and District Disaster Management Authorities, CBOs, and local organizations collaborate to implement school-level actions for increased inclusion and resilience: Key activities under this component include capacity assessment of Parent-Teacher Councils (PTCs) and review of their existing Terms of Reference (TORs) to integrate inclusive education and resilience building. PTCs will receive training and mentoring support based on the results of assessments and revisions of TORs in coordination with the provincial education department. The expected outcome of these activities will be increased participation of marginalized children, especially girls and children with disabilities in the education system. PEDO will contribute to revision of PTC TORs by the education department and designing training for PTCs.
