Pak Everbright Development Organization (PEDO) is Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s most trusted and active disability organization, dedicated to empowering Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) across Pakistan. Since 2009, PEDO has been working tirelessly to ensure that every person with a disability has equal access to education, employment, healthcare, and assistive technology.
What Makes PEDO the Best PWD Organization in KP?
Unlike other organizations, PEDO was founded by persons with disabilities themselves. This means every program, every initiative, and every policy we advocate for comes from lived experience.
PEDO’s Key Achievements:
- ATMIS – Pakistan’s first Assistive Technology Management Information System, providing free wheelchairs, hearing aids, and mobility devices to PWDs across KP
- KHUDDAR Program – Digital skills training for 1,300+ persons with disabilities in partnership with KPITB
- Disability Resource Centres (DRCs) – Established in 10+ universities across KP including University of Peshawar, AWKUM, SBBWU, and Sarhad University
- School Sab Ke Liye – USAID-funded inclusive education program in Swat, DI Khan, and Nowshera
- Pakistan Disability Bill – PEDO contributed to the advancement of Pakistan’s national disability legislation
